Lists and sources

Every entry on the register comes from a list that a court publishes on its own website. This page records each list, who publishes it, how the register reads it, and the most recent date for which entries exist. For every court in Canada, including those that publish no list, see the Court directory.

How collection works

Lists are read several times a day, starting early in the morning Eastern time, and again in the afternoon to pick up dockets posted for the next sitting day. Each line of a list becomes one entry. Changes a court makes between collections are picked up at the next collection. Lists for past dates are kept.

Fields are reproduced as published. Names, styles of cause and appearance types are not edited or interpreted beyond trimming whitespace. Where a court does not publish a field (for example a file number) the entry shows it as not stated.
